hello there...
two days ago my sister had a radiology scan because she had some pain in the pelvic region for the last month and what was written in the report is... ( The right ovary appears bulky measuring about 5.6 cm .There is a large well defined soft tissue mass measuring about 11.4 cm seen in the pelvis mostly representing the left ovary (mass ?) . Normal uterus. )
Are we supposed to get worried ? and is she going to be affected by this in the future?

Hi Anon

Thanks for your post!

Your sister's doctors need to discuss these test results with her.

It sounds like she has a growth that may need to be removed. Some of these growths can be cancerous but the good news is that most are not - they are cysts or masses that are benign. But her doctor will need to talk to her about what he or she is seeing on the scans.

He or she should be contacting her immediately or she needs to contact the office for a further appointment.
