HI Pat,
September 29, 2014 - 5:20pmI did have viral meningitis over a month ago. I had been feeling better over the past week until I was awakened by severe pain in my right breast. The next morning, my breast was swollen and my lymph nodes in my neck began to swell. then the area below my collar bone started to hurt. It hurts to wear a seat belt and I keep having incremental sharp pains in my breast. I did call mu gp (tried my gyn first but thet were closed due to computers being down) and asked for an order to get a mammogram. I had it last Thursday, still waiting for results.
Thank you for responding

Thanks for writing back, momof3bbs-
I'm glad you had the mammogram but surprised you are still waiting for results. If you did not get results today I would call the imaging facility and ask if the radiologist's report is ready and ask for it. If they refuse and say the doctor gets the info first, then call your doctor's office and ask them to share the results. These are your records and you are entitled to not only the information but a copy of any correspondence sent to your doctor. You may also want to see your family physician, as it sounds like the condition is quite painful and worsening. I would imagine this situation is frightening and it's easy to think breast pain may mean breast cancer, but it could be something completely different and it would be best to get a full check up as soon as you can. The pain could be coming from another part of your body, for example your chest wall, and manifesting in the breast. I hope you have answers soon, and will let us know what you learn and if we can help you further.
Take good care, Pat
