My best friend has been talking to this guy for about 2 years almost 3. She is madly in love with him and he loves her, but unfortunately they have been on and off. Also he is three years oldert than her and is very experienced but on the other hand she is a virgin. She is not sure if she is ready 100%. She wants to lose her virginity to him, but is afraid of all the reprecussions. They care an awful lot about each other. She is confused on what to do and her main concern is how does she know if she is ready?

My personal opinion is that if she is trying to decide if she is ready to have sex with this guy, then she probably isn't. He may still be the right one for her but I believe that she will know it with certainty when the time is right. It sounds as though she is not only concerned about the consequences of having a sexual relationship but maybe questioning his devotion to her. Ask her how it would effect her if she does sleep with him and he stops seeing her. She should only be willing to share herself with another person if she believes that she will have no regrets regardless of which direction the relationship goes.
