Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question. The most important factor when buying sunscreen is buying something that protects your skin from UVA rays- this is actually more important than the SPF factor. An SPF of 30 will give you 97% protection from UVB rays and anything higher than that doesn't do much more. For UVA protection, look for these ingredients:
Parsol
Titanium Dioxide
Zinc Oxide
Oxybenzone
Antioxidants
Retinol
Avobenzone
Brands to Look for with good UVA and UVB Protection:
Alta MD
LaRoche
Posay Obagi
Neutrogena
Estee Lauder
Jan Marini
Clinique
Loreal
HydroPeptide
BeautyRx
Try to stay away from those that emphasize moisturizing, and look instead for something that does what it is intended to do-- protect your skin from the sun.
I hope this helps,
Rosa
