I need more information on sleep apnea. I have had sleep apnea for about 5 yrs now & it seems to have moved onto another stage. I was just retested 2 months ago & about 2-3 hours after I wake up I am getting tired, sluggish & can't get motivated. I am just drained when this hits.

Anon - Have you gotten much support in terms of how to manage this chronic condition over the long term? If not here are some resources that can help you.

The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute has a lot of information at the link below. Be sure to look at the left side of the page for more links: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/dci/Diseases/SleepApnea/SleepApnea_WhatIs.html

The American Sleep Apnea Association is a nonprofit support group dedicated to helping those with this condition improve their quality of life: http://www.sleepapnea.org/

The best resource for help in dealing with a chronic condition is often fellow patients.
The following page leads to support groups in the U.S. (If you're in another country let me know where and I will see what I can find for you. ) http://www.sleepapnea.org/awake/index.html

Let me know if this helps, and we wish you the best in the days ahead.
