So I came on on a Wednesday and suddenly stopped on a Saturday. This is very abnormal as Im usually on for 7/10 days straight. I was on the pill but couldnt get any so I had to go a month without it.

I have done this before and it was the normal 7/10 days straight. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex quite a few times but we did the pull out method. The day I suddenly stopped I became very nauseous but didnt vomit. I still am getting stomach cramps as if I should still be on and this time I was on it was very very painful no painkillers were really helping. My breasts are still a bit tender but not so much anymore, Im just wondering if I have anything to worry about. Thanks in advance for your help

Thank you for a very quick response, I didnt come on late which Ive read about but the sudden stop worried me a bit. I understand the pull out method is very unreliable I will take a test, thank you very much for your advice :)

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for asking our help. You do have something to worry about-possible pregnancy.

The pull out method is a very unreliable method of birth control. By going one month without oral contraceptives causes changes in the balance of hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle.

Birth control pills prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. No egg is released. Taking a daily hormone containing pills keeps hormone levels constant. During the placebo week, the hormone levels drop and the uterine lining is shed. This is called break through bleeding and it is not a real period.

Consider talking with your gynecologist about all of this.

Hello Justagirl,

Yes, an internist or primary care physician can help.

Hello, just another quick question.. Everywhere I have been reading about this problem everyones periods seem to have been at least a couple days late which is a sign of pregnancy/implantation bleeding, however mine was around the time it should have been may be a day earlier, it was just really heavy and came to a sudden stop. Is there still a possibility I guess is what Im trying to ask..?
