So I guess what I'm asking is, should I be concerned?

Hi, I'm new to this and I just need advice on something that happened tonight. Here it goes. I had had sex tonight, but during it, my boyfriend and I had found that the condom had broke. He told me that he think that he cummed inside of me. I'm on the pill, but I just started on it again (after taking a two week break) about one and a half months ago. I'm on the first week on my second pack (Microgestin) and though I haven't missed any pills necessarily, I've been between two to five hours late on taking them, maybe two times on this pack.

Hi Nicole,

From your explanation, you should be safe but of course there is always a chance of pregnancy even with condoms and birth control. Nothing is 100%. If you miss or restart using birth control, the rule of thumb is to use a back up method for at least 7 days, although we should always use condoms too to prevent sexually transmitted diseases.

Since you have been regularly taking the Pill for over a month already, you should be safe. You can always purchase a pregnancy test from one of your local Dollar Stores for a dollar to be safe and settle your nerves about the possibility. I hope this helps. Could you keep us posted?
