Hi Steph,
April 6, 2011 - 6:00pmI am troubled that you are so overwhelmed by the uncertainty of your situation. Your doctor really needs to take the time and explain what he or she thinks might be going on.

Hi,
April 5, 2011 - 4:34pmI can understand your anxiety caused by the testing and uncertainty of what might be the problem.
Has your doctor talked to you about the abnormal findings found on the ultrasound? I am wondering, did you have a mammogram?
When the lymph nodes were noted last year, I'm assuming that they were enlarged and caused attention. When you were treated with antibiotics, did your doctor tell you why you were being treated with these drugs? Was an infection suspected, since antibiotics are prescribed to treat infections.
Has your doctor explained why you need an MRI? And why you are being sent to see a surgeon? I will guess that the surgeon may plan to perform a biopsy. With a biopsy, a small amount of the cells or tissues in the abnormal area can be removed and analyze to determine whether the cells are abnormal and help make a diagnosis.
I hope this information can guide you to ask your doctor more questions. Please keep us posted.
