from an old Root Canal (from 15 yrs ago), as I couldn't afford a crown. Un-
til I can be seen (it's a weekend now),
part of the remaining tooth is razor
sharp and not only causing severe discomfort but is & has made a lacer-
ation into underneath my tongue.
tried putting a piece of wax. How-
everit does not stay in place bcuz
is not possible to keep the inside
a mouth dry. I'm about ready to file
it down myself. Any advice +/or ideas? Shar

Hello Shar. Thank you for posting.

Many pharmacies sell temporary filling kits. These kits include either a single putty or two soft putties that should be mixed together. If you can put the mixture into your broken tooth without discomfort, you should be fine until your dental appointment. To reduce possible pain while eating, you may want to stick with soft foods and avoid anything too hot or cold. You could also try chewing solely on the intact side of your mouth. Ibuprofen can help with any discomfort. See your dentist or an oral surgeon as soon as you can.
