Hi sdmami,

Welcome to EmpowHER. If you have any concerns or doubts from the information given to you by your doctor or nurse. It's best to go back and ask them again. HPV is spread through contact with an infected genital skin, mucous membranes, bodily fluids and through intercourse or oral sex. HPV cannot be treated, it's the symptoms that are treated. Some health problems caused by HPV can be genital warts and cervical cancer. Hope this was helpful?
