Soy used to seem like a big health trend but lately I've been hearing that it can be bad for your health. I like soy but want to check if it's a healthy option or not. Is soy bad for my health?

Hi Anon,
Thanks for your question. Some experts believe, soy is good for your heart and lowers blood pressure. Eating soy food contains high levels of healthy protein and fibers that helps reduce cholesterol. Soy is believed bad, because some soy contains isoflavones. They are found in small amounts of legumes, grains and vegetables. Since isoflavones bind to estrogen receptors, they can have similar affects as estrogen. But not nearly as strong as animal based estrogen. Human estrogen is believed to be even stronger. Always discuss with your doctor, if you are concerned if soy would be best for you.
Best,
Daisy
