Lately for the past two in a half months I have not felt like my self. I've always had a regular period not two days early and not a week late. I am not on no birth control. My boyfriend and I had been having unprotected sex for a month now . August 3rd and 4th I spotted I thought I was going to start my period early but I didn't. August 5th I started my regular period it was for 5 days. August 17th my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex. But august 20th I did a hpt and it came out positive. August 28th and 29th I then started to spot again but then august 30th I started my period, again!! That ended Sept. 5th. Now on September the 10th I did a hpt and it came out negative. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex...again September 20th. But now I started my period two days early on the 27th. My first day are never heavy but this time it was. My breast feel heavy and my bra just feels so uncomfortable. I am not one to get home and take everything off. I've been feeling very nauseous lately. I did end up at the hospital September 13th they did a urine test and said that I had a uti and I am not pregnant. I did get medication for it. They also gave me nausea pills which I didn't have. Now that I do have nausea I take them but it seems worse. I dont have a uti anymore. I get a very sharp abdominal pain and left lower back pain. I am so confused!!! Why would I get a positve pregnancy test and a month later a negative?!!! My mom had her period through her entire pregnancy with my brother ; of course she had to quit her job since she was in the last 3 months. I'm just confused and scared that it may not be pregnancy but something wore that I might have?!

Guide

Hello shv_92,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions. I can appreciate how confused you must be.

I think the result of the August 20 hpt was a false positive. The reasons are: you finished your period on August 10, had unprotected sex on August 17, which would have been too early for you to ovulate, and you tested on August 20. Even if you conceived on August 17, it was too early for implantation to occur and hCG levels to be produced and detected.

I strongly suggest you schedule an appointment with either your primary care physician or your gynecologist. Your complaints of sharp abdominal pain and lower back pain need to be evaluated.
This may be a kidney problem and may have nothing to do with being pregnant or not.

Regards,
Maryann
