I get stabbing pain halfway through the month...why? Sometimes during sex it is so painful during some positions. Right after my period it hurts, during ovulation it hurts, and right before it hurts. Im on birth control which i thought stopped ovulation but it doesnt seem to if im still experiencing such bad pain! The ultrasound that they did saw no cysts, can they hide?
If you read some of my other questions you can see why i feel like im crazy! :S The doctors dont know what to do...Its just so painful! Maybe its normal, i dont know.

You are right--hormonal contraception works in one of several ways, including:
- preventing ovulation
- creating an "uninhabitable" environment for sperm (thicker cervical mucus)
- creating a "barrier" to the cervix (thicker cervical mucus at opening of uterus)
It is important to note that hormonal contraception does not always work in all of these ways for every cycle. In other words: there is still a chance that you may ovulate. It is unlikely that it would be every month, however.
Have the doctors speculated as to the cause of your mid-cycle stabbing pain? Have they offered you any pain management methods or medications? Have you tried other forms of hormonal contraception, even other brands of pills?

Im on Linessa, I take naproxin (sp?) and T3's to help with pain. Iv had this pain since i was 12 and i started having sex when i was 19 pain started then (im now 23). (iv only been with one person) Iv been on a few birth control pills, Alesse, Yesmin, Triquilar, Seasonique.
