Started early and lasting longer than normal

I have pretty normal easy periods. 24 day menstrual cycle and period for about five days. Hardly ever cramps but if I do have them not very bad. Well recently my period started ten days early and is lasting for two weeks. I am having some of the most painful cramps I've ever had! I am not used to this. Also if I wear a tampon it fills up in about two hours but I cramp super bad. So I have mostly used pads but hardly anything is coming out. I know changes are normal but I'm just not used to it. Does this ever happen to anyone else?

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Contact your gynecologist or primary care physician. Bleeding heavily for two weeks with severe cramps is abnormal and must be evaluated in person with your doctor.
