Hi Anon

Thank you for your question!

Numbness could be for many reasons but one primary reason could be nerve damage in your hand.

Nerve damage can be caused by aging, diabetes, lack of vitamins in diet, motor neuron problems, autoimmune conditions or damage due to an accident or some kind of trauma to the hand.

You said you also have stiffness - you may have something like arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis - an autoimmune disorder.

Carpel tunnel syndrome is also something you may want to consider.

Since you are waking up with this after lying down all night, there is still the chance that this is happening  due to sleeping on your hand without you knowing it.

I think it's important that you have your hand evaluated to see if any of  the above possibilities is relevant to you so you can begin treatment.

Will you keep us posted?
