Q:

Is a sudden drop of BP to 65/72 dangerous?

I was fine and when preparing to vacuum the carpet I began falling to the right or left depending on which foot was in front. I couldn't stand up on my own and at one point felt I was loosing consciousness. After I was able to walk without falling I took my blood pressure. It was 65/72. My blood pressure usually is around 132/72 while taking two BP medications. now 45 min. later it is 131/72. Heart rater 65. What might have happened? Do I need to be checked out?

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER.

This is a serious drop. Are you sure the reading wasn't 72/65?

Regardless, call your physician to report this now.

Regards,
Maryann
