Sun Rash/Allergy, Fatigue, Heat Intolerance

I break out into a rash on my neck, chest, and back every time they are exposed to sunlight. I have self-diagnosed PMLE, but I have other symptoms that seem to be a mystery to my doctor. I have a heat intolerance, and am hot to the point of feeling sweaty when others are comfortable, and I am only comfortable when it is very cool outdoors and indoors. I am also tired most of the time.
I have been tested for lupus, thyroid issues, and no one seems to know what's wrong with me--my bloodwork recently came back completely normal. I am 36 years old, normal healthy weight, and am stumped. Does anyone have any ideas? I would love to know what's wrong with me so it could (hopefully) be treated. Thanks, I'm happy to have found this site!

Hi JennB!

Welcome to EmpowHER!

It sounds like your doctors may have to think out of the box-- could it be an auto-immune disorder? An adrenal gland disorder? Further tests other than the obvious Lupus, should be conducted if everything that they have tested is negative. The hypothalamus regulates our body's temperature and also the pituitary gland which, in turn controls the Adrenal glands.

Please seek further testing from your doctor(s) and if necessary, seek a second opinion.

Best,

Rosa
