Is there a form of birth control that won't make me gain weight?

Hi Anon

Thanks for your post and welcome.

Some women find that the birth control pill or the coil can cause weight gain.  But this is honestly more of a fallacy than a fact. A few women do gain weight due to water retention but there is no real evidence to say there is any reason why the Pill could cause weight gain.

But the condom does not cause weight gain, nor does a spermicidal insert. IUD's should also not cause weight gain.

In general, the notion of birth control causing weight gain has been dismissed.  You can try several options to see what works for you.
