Thanks for your question - it's a interesting one!
Food allergies can cause serious injuries or death (nuts and shellfish being two major culprits in these scenarios) so trying to "build up a tolerance" could be very dangerous. I'm interested in why you would want to do this?!
Your best bet is to talk to your allergist about the pros and cons about even trying to do something like this. He or she can evaluate your own personal risks (some foods that can cause rashes, hives or swelling in one person, can kill another) and advise you accordingly.
