Threw up birth control pill, but took another to make up for it.

I took my birth control pill on Saturday, but threw up less than thirty minutes after. However, I took another pill to make up for this lost pill. So my pill pack is now a pill shorter, but I am planning to just start my next pill pack a day earlier. Am I still safe? Thanks!

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Anytime you miss a pill your chances for pregnancy are higher.  You should be safe, but if you plan on skipping any pills. You should use another form of protection, such as condoms.

Best,

Daisy
