So I went to the doctors and was told I have trichomonasis. I know, I attracted the STD from my previous partner. I have a new partner and I was wondering should I inform him to go get his self check out. We had unprotected sex a couple of time and I read sometimes men may get rid of the disease in a couple of weeks. should I save myself the embarrassment and wait until he come to me because he may don't have it or should I just come straight out and tell him?

Shawny,

Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear that you got an STD from your ex boyfriend. Luckily, Trich can be treated and with further care-- like not having unprotected sex any more, you can help prevent it again. This isn't about saving yourself the embarrassment of telling your current boyfriend in hopes that he doesn't have it or that it will go away on its own-- he needs to be checked ou so that he can be treated if he did get it from you. Honesty is absolutely necessary in a relationship and everyone has a past-- what's important is what you're doing about it now.
