hi I have a question. so my boyfriend and I are trying to have a baby. I had my last period on august 16th and ended the 22nd. my ovulation day was the 30th of august. and my boyfriend and I had sex 3-4 days before my ovulation day and ejaculated in my all of those days, and too add he ejaculated in me the day before my ovulation day. and I checked my ovulation calander and it says I'm suppose to start my period the 13th of this month, which I obviously don't want to and I'm hoping I don't. but what are the chances of me getting pregnant?

Guide

Hi Anon, and thanks for your question. The short answer is there's about a 20% chance you are pregnant. The long answer is there's a long window of potentially fertile days,
because women can ovulate anywhere from 9-16 days before their menstrual period---and that is just an average. Some women might even miss ovulating during a cycle. If you do ovulate within that time frame, the egg lives about 24 hours (if not fertilized), and sperm can live up to 3 days before reaching the egg; all of these factors are included in this time frame, but you can see how it can be a "hit or miss", and there is about a 20% chance of pregnancy during each cycle.

You can find more information to help you in your efforts to get pregnant from the American Pregnancy Association.

Hope this helps, and please share the good news with us when you become pregnant.

Best,

Pam
