Hi. I'm just concerned about my discharge for the past week. I just don't consider it usual because it is white and watery not even stretchy. My usual discharge is white and not watery, but sticky and stretchy. I also noticed it's too much than my usual discharge and it's already been a week. I get too much of it especially after i poop. When i wipe, i see a white watery discharge. My period is due on the first week of the month. Is there something wrong with me?

Hello and thank you for choosing EmpowHer,
Vaginal discharge is the way the vagina gets rid of excess mucus. Just like you can see different consistency of mucus coming from your nose. For example it can be thick or thin, clear or a color (which signifies infection). In the vagina, discharge is white, very light yellow or clear usually. These are normal. Dark yellow or green discharge is abnormal and usually accompanied by painful itching and burning sensations.
If/when your discharge is excessive it is a signal that your diet needs balancing. When your diet contains a lot of mucus creating foods then you will have more moisture and discharge in the vagina. These foods would include: dairy, alcohol, wheat (in some cases), sugar, red meat, caffeine, and bananas.
When discharge becomes so excessive that it disrupts your daily activities, then douching is necessary. If you feel this is necessary, feel free to ask about how to do so.
