I have had this venus lake on my lower lip for many years and tried to have laser treatments at UCSF many years ago. The head of the dermatology dept advised me to wait until better lasers had come out and not I am going to try and have it treated with a vascula laser. Has any one had any successes with that and if so were there any side effects??

I have a Venus Lake on my bottom lip, it's been their for 20yrs guess I might try lasser since my Dentist said his brother does lasser from office. He also did on my gums to make them even.... I will look into it for treatment.

Im not quite sure if i have a venous lake or something else...ive had it since little but mine isnt blue or purple...its red...
April 24, 2012 - 6:25pmim scared to go to the doctor because i dont have insurance. it has alot of similarities to a venous lake since it hurts but i was looking on google and i have not seen one like mine yet. if you have any idea or recommend a good dermatologist in california please let me know.

Why laser? I had one that was extirped sirurgically in 1968. It reappeared about 4 years later and I made another extirpation in 1975. It didn't reappeared since

hey, I'm a male who also have one, about 4 years ago I had part of mines removed, my doctor used hot sticks to remove it (they numbed it so I didn't feel a thing) and gave me three stitches which was almost completely healed in about 5 days or so. I was also advised that Venus lakes sometimes move after the procedure idk why but mines never did, however, I'm sure they have better technology now to remedy that.

We could have a regular venus lake club after seeing all these comments! We are not alone! I, too, have a venus (also spelled venous) lake on my lower lip. I am self-conscious about it and people ask me what it is quite often. I guess we can be grateful it is not cancerous. My dermotologist also said treatment wasn't necessary and that laser surgery is quite uncomfortable and spendy. If anyone knows of a good procedure, I'm sure we would all be interested.

It has grown in the last year and feel like something needs to be done about it. I want to get a second opinion on it and see what they say. I also have this venus lake on my lower lip and it has become a problem, it is getting larger and puffier. I feel it is so ugly and blue/black. I want a dr to remove it. I need help asap. Gloria

Their are two Dentist in South-lake, Tx one of them does lasser the name of the Dentist are Di Vinci Dentistry possible they can help you I am going to see if they can help me......
