Visible cervix

For the past 2-3 days I have felt this irritating feeling from my vagina. It is bothersome when I walk or sit down. I thought that perhaps it's from being sensitive to the body wash I'm using or the toilet tissue or because my me steal cycle is due to begin. I felt down there with my finger and it felt like a ball. I then took a hand mirror and looked. I can a pink ball that covers the entrance of my vagina.
I googled it and found out that it's my cervix. I am extremely scared and I don't want to really go to a GYN because now my me steal cycle has started and I don't want anyone looking down there while my cycle is flowing. What should I do?

I'm 38 years old with 2 children ages 20 and 14. This is the first time this has ever happened and I'm not sexual active.
Please help

Guide

Hello Mburrell1978,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. I am glad you reached out to us with your concern.

I understand your hesitation to have a pelvic exam while having your period. Consider calling your gynecologist's office to report the feeling of vaginal irritation and schedule an appointment for when your period has finished.

It is difficult to know what you are actually seeing. But, what you are seeing might be perfectly normal.
Here is a link to a photo of the cervix. I hope it helps.
