A friend is gaining weight after her 6th year of recovery. She is wheelchair bound and unable to do exercises on her own. The transfers are becoming more challenging because she is getting too heavy to transfer thus placing my health in danger. She is on a low calorie meal regimen also.

What have her doctors recommended regarding wheelchair-appropriate movement and/or exercises, as there are many options available to her, depending on her unique situation and current health status.

Does your friend attend any type of physical therapy?

Can you also explain how your health is being affected in her transfer? Are you her primary or only caregiver?
