For the past 2 months I have had my periods but they have been really wierd. I am normally very regular and have light then heavy then light again periods that last 4-5 days. Month 1: I was 4 days late and the period flow was very thin and lasted only a day and half but was severly painful. Month 2: It came a few days early but was mostly brown discharge and seems to be stopping now on a day after it started. Once again it is much more painful than usual. Between these periods and for awhile before the first mentioned, I've stayed constantly nauseated, fatigued, and food hurts my stomach. I was wondering if the nausea, fatigue, and stomach pain were linked to the odd periods.

Hi Anon,
Thank you for your question. It is actually rather common to have one period heavier than the next. If you experience a light period on month it is usually expected for the next to be a bit heavier. What concerns me are your other symptoms of nausea, fatigue, excessive cramps, and food hurting your stomach. When you say that food hurts your stomach-- do you mean that whenever you eat you feel stomach pains? I'm not a doctor, so I cannot diagnose you but I would suggest that you see your doctor as soon as you can. I don't know if you have any other symptoms but do a little reading on Peptic Ulcers and IBS here:

Let me know if you think you may have either of these. Even if you don't think these may be the causes, please keep us posted on your doctors visit.

When I said food hurts my stomach, I meant that when I eat I get stomach pain that makes it extremely painful to eat more than a few bites at a time. IBS and other digestive problems run in my family. I will see a doctor as soon as possible.
