Hi, I have a concern and I want to be sure of what this is. I have scoliosis and because of this I have sciatica. I'm already in treatment and seeing good process. Generally in my situation I don't carry or lift anything heavy at all and last week without realizing I lifted something heavy by accident and where my sciatica problem is I felt a pull and I felt like something moved in the area. I went to my doctor for this and I'm going to have MRI done. Sunday and today I went to the emergency room from such extreme pain and no pain medication help me very much the only thing that helps me a little is gabapentin. Because of such problem I have ever since last week I realized I keep having the feeling like I have to urinate even though I don't really have to I want to know what is causing me to feel like this? I feel very uncomfortable like this. Please let me know about this soon.

One other thing I want to say is I saw a different doctor of mine like two weeks ago and we were talking about thyroid concerns. This doctor of mine is actually a surgeon/oncologist. Since we were on the subject of thyroid I was thinking of the article information I have regarding thyroid matters and I thought I'd give a copy to my doctor I was wondering if you think it's okay with a nice gesture to give a copy of such information to my doctor? Just a little thing I was thinking of to send my doctor but I just wanted your opinion about this. Please let me know about these soon.

Thanks,
Melissa

Guide

Hello Melissa,

The need to urinate more often than you usually do has no one cause. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the most common cause of frequent or urgent urination.

Other factors include anxiety, an overactive bladder and drinking too much fluids, including alcohol and caffeine.

If this persists and you notice that your urine is unusually cloudy or smelly, contact your primary care physician, who can order a urine test to check for infection.

Personally, I would not offer a copy of the article to your physician. But, the choice is yours to make.

Regards,
Maryann

Thanks for your reply. From what I explained regarding such sciatica problem I have I noticed this problem ever since I have such extreme pain that keeps on making me feel like I have to go to the bathroom. I keep having an urge of urinating. Few days ago I was at the emergency room because of this matter and I was told something is touching somewhere to my spine making me feel like I have to urinate I want to know what do you think from what I was told?

I'm just wondering may I ask why you think personally it's not a good idea to not offer a copy of the article to my physician?
Thanks,
Melissa
