Thank you for writing.

There is no need to take antibiotics for an insect bite unless you have an infection.

You will need to have an examination to know if you need antibiotics that will need a prescription.

If there is no infection, keeping the bite clean, using ice for discomfort and an anti-itch cream - hydrocortisone cream is a topical corticosteroid - will really help.
