Women trying to conceive have a 20% chance of pregnancy with each cycle. This percentage takes into account a few facts:
- Women's fertile "window" is about 24 hours each cycle (once the egg is released during ovulation, it is only viable for about 24 hours)
- Sperm can live inside a woman's body for up to 3-5 days (experts suggest frequent unprotected sex prior to and day-of ovulation for this reason)
Each cycle that you actively try to conceive, the more likely you will be one of the 20% ! Keep trying...it takes healthy women 6-12 months to conceive!
