What are some good snacks or meals that have a high salt/sodium content? Also, what about "salt tablets"?

I have just been diagnosed with dysautonomia, and the cardiologist recommended that as a lifestyle change to combat my low blood pressure (which leads to symptoms like fainting), I significantly increase my salt intake.

He also said that I could take a "salt tablet" supplement to help. My pharmacy said they'd have to order it for me because they don't keep it in store. What kind of dosage or regimen might be good to try?

Hello Kelsey,

You need to ask your cardiologist these questions. I am not used to some one needing to increase sodium intake.

Thanks, Maryann. Yes, I was thinking that, but since it's the weekend, I had to leave a message to hopefully be answered next week. So I guess I wondered and thought it'd be worth a try to ask here.
