What causes fingernails to fall off?

My 9 year old daughter has three fingernails that are coming off. A new nail is growing underneath already. She did not have any trauma to them. She paints her fingernails often.I have made a doctor appt. for her on Friday.

The nail polish or nail polish remover may be causing damage to your daughter's fingernails. You are doing the right thing by having her evaluated by her doctor.
