What could be causing my nephew to have two tiny holes in the same exact spot on two opposing teeth?

My nephew who takes wonderful care of his teeth has two tiny holes in the same exact spot on two of his bottom teeth. Is this typical?

That is an interesting question, thanks for the post. Let me ask you something, how old is your nephew? Does he have the holes on the permanent teeth? I heard of a common condition called "developmental grooves" which are described as tiny holes on the tooth and some times show up in more than one. I think you should consult a dentist. More than likely it is nothing serious, but your nephew may want to protect the teeth from decay and having holes may promote bacteria forming.
