What does it mean for two months to be late on your period and on the third month start early?

For the month of May and June I had my period a week late. But this month I was not supposed to start until July 11th and started July 5th. I am taking birth control and take the pill at the same time every day. I have been taking birth control for four years and have never had this issue before. I don't think I'm pregnant but I don't know what else could be causing this issue I just wish someone could help me.

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you and welcome to Empowher. Since you are on birth control, I would contact your physician and let him know that you are starting your period while on your active pills. You may need a different prescription as this pill may not be working as it should be….also use a backup method of birth control (such as condoms) until you are back on a normal schedule.

Can you keep us posted?

Good luck,
Missie
