Last month I had my period for 2 weeks and now this month Its 2 days late and I'm still waiting for it. Both months I had missed up on my pills and some days I had to take 2 pills a day since I had missed a day and this has happened a lot this month and one day I had to take 3 pills. And if I did have sex the guy pulled out before getting to the climax. Am I pregnant, or is my body confused because of the birth control??

Guide

Hi tm123456789.

Thank you sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

Whenever you miss taking your birth control pills as instructed and have unprotected sex or use a birth control method (pulling out) that is not as reliable as a condom, your risk for pregnancy increase tremendously.

In addition, you are correct in that your system is trying to adjust to how inconsistently you've been taking your birth control pills. So your menstrual cycle may still come even though it's late.

Until you get on track with taking your birth control pill regularly, be sure to use a more reliable birth control method as a back up.

The easiest way to determine if you are pregnant is to take a home pregnancy test to rule it out.

I hope this helps,

Be well,
~Gillette
