120 over 80 (120/80) is considered the ideal blood pressure. This, of course, will vary in range from person to person.

120/80 is considered to be normal blood pressure, which is a good general target. However, I'm not sure it is "ideal". Numerous health professionals have told me blood pressure below that, but not too low, i.e., not below 90/60, is better than 120/80, assuming one maintains it, and it is not a sudden drop from a normally higher blood pressure level.
