Q:

What is this rash on my arm?

On the underside of my arm about 2 and a half inches from my elbow I have a red, sore spot about the size of my thumb which itches and hurts, it is red and has smaller spots inside of it, also I can see what appear to be little broken veins around the edges of it when I look closely. It seems to get sharp little aches/stabs in it and occasionally it feels itchy higher/lower than the actual spot. Clothes hurt touching it. There is also a similar spot on my chest right about where you'd put your hand over your heart.

Guide

Hi, Anon.

Thanks for reaching out with your concern.

This needs to be examined by a doctor, which I recommend as it can be many things. An allergic reaction, herpes zoster (shingles which can be mild or severe) or some other skin condition or underlying medical condition causing this rash. The fact that it's appearing in more than one place is definitely reason to have it looked at by a dermatologist.
