Hi, It's been awhile that I have been feeling pain below the left side of my stomach and I feel really weird horrible pain. I also get random sharp pain as well. I'm scared if it's something bad and I really don't know what to do and which doctor to see for such thing? Any suggestions who I go to? I do know one thing which is next week I'm going to have a transvaginal ultrasound and I was thinking having such test done would I be able to know the cause of the pain by this test? I can't figure out what to do feeling like this, your suggestions would help a lot.

Thank You,
Melissa

Hi Melissa666,

Most hospital or imaging center, if requested at the time of the exam will let you have a copy of the images.  Also, a written result will be sent to your doctor, once the Radiologist see your images.

I see okay. When I mention such thing to the technologist do you think she also does a ultrasound of the abdomen to see what it is?

Thank You,
Melissa

If it's something in the abdomen, then you will need an abdomen ultrasound.  Totally separate from the transvaginal ultrasound. There's been changes to the EmpowHER site. You might want to go back into your setting and make any changes there.

Thanks for your reply. The doctor that ordered this test of trasvaginal ultrasound she wasn't helpful at all and I noticed this pain after seeing her. I didn't have such problem when I saw her I noticed such thing like 2 weeks after seeing the GYN and she was really stupid and her behavior was horrible. It's been like few weeks now that I noticed this. I don't even know who to go to review the results with me. The clinic I go to they recommend the best possible doctor to go if the person has any certain issue that no one else helps them out. I know I will definitely speak with them.

Since your telling me it can be due to a cyst in the ovaries because of such pain I have can the transvaginal ultrasound show the ovary and below abdomen area if something by the abdomen? Such ultrasound are films available to get to see the image of what's going on? Please let me know.

One other thing is I don't know who I should actually say this to, in general I get notifications by email from empowher saying that I have a reply here that someone respond to my messages I want to know why I don't get such notification by email anymore? Is their something I should do? Please let me know soon.

Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa6666,

Sorry to hear this. Yes, it can be due to a cyst in the ovaries.  You should let your doctor know about this pain, before having your ultrasound. He might suggest other imaging test.

This pain that I have feels sharp from time to time and I feel lots of pressure. I get a lot of random pain in the area as well. Could it mean it's cyst in the ovary? Please let me know.

Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa6666,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Many things can cause pain on the left side of the abdomen.  Such as Kidney stones, Viral Hepatitis, Diverticulitis, and many other conditions.  Since you are having the ultrasound next week, you should let your doctor know about the pain in your abdomen.  He might suggest having an abdomen ultrasound as well.  A primary physician can be seen for these symptoms.

Best,

Daisy
