Try ginger tea or candy to ease nausea, especially during pregnancy. You can also sniff peppermint or lemon essential oil for similar relief. Chamomile tea can also calm an uneasy stomach. Several OTC medicines are used as antiemetics. Bismuth subsalicylate (some brand names: Kaopectate, Pepto-Bismol) may help treat some types of nausea and vomiting, such as from gastroenteritis. It's also used for upset stomach and as an antidiarrheal.

Drugs that may be prescribed by a doctor when suffering from severe nausea are, Emend (aprepitant), Zofran (ondansetron), Kytril (granisetron), Anzemet (dolasetron), or Aloxi (palonosetron).
