Hi Missy...

It seems like you may benefit from seeing another doctor-- you should never leave a doctors office without answers to your questions, much less in tears.

Less than 5% of women with Mirena will have Inflammation of the Cervix but it can an most likely is the cause for your inflammation. You can read through their site for more information: http://www.mirena-us.com/just-the-facts/index.jsp

If it has been over 19 days, you can re-test for pregnancy whenever you'd like.

Best Wishes,

Hi Rosa thanks for the reply, i was actually thinking the inflammation was caused by the mirena but my doctor told me it wasnt and for the pregnancy test i read it all on wensday and then i read the directions again thursday just to make sure i was going to use it properly i used my first morning urine and then i left it flat waiting on the result i dont know when to use a pregnancy test because i dont get a period but on the clear blue website it said to use it 19 days after unprotected sex if women didnt get period due to an iud when would you think i should test again, i was at my doctor today and they were no help the dr treated me as if i was a child and told me ive so many symptoms for such a young lady, i walked out off the surgery and cryed all the way home cause she wouldnt listen to me and i put a complaint into the hse about her im so emotional i dont know what to do or who to go to with these problems i know this site is in england but i am from ireland and just looking for imformation thanks Rosa

Hi MissyD,

Inflammation of the cervix can be experienced with Mirena, unfortunately. If you continue to experience pain, bloating, etc. Please go back to your doctor and explain that you are not getting any better. As for a pregnancy test, it should not take 10 minutes to get a result, when done properly--- please re-test but follow the directions exactly as it states on the packaging.

All the best,
