Hi,
Missing one pill, and taking it as soon as you remember the next day ("doubling up", meaning you would have taken two pills that day) does not decrease the effectiveness of your pills. In other words: your pills are 99% effective at preventing pregnancy, and missing one pill in your pack (and making it up) still keeps you at 99% effectiveness rate.
