I think I may have it. Periodically one or more joint hurts. I get very tired. No redness, a little swelling and a lot of stiffness. It is always a new spot when it hits.

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 30 (I'm now 50) and for me....flares come without warning and basically defy most of the meds. I've been on. I wish I could say they were easier as time has passed, though I suppose I have learned to deal with them better . I wish you easy passage navigating this diagnosis.

Dear Anonymous,
A "flare up" can apply to any illness that goes periods without notice to periods that are very painful or bothersome. Particularly with illnesses, it is a sudden appearance or worsening of symptoms.
Hope this answers your question,
Rosa
