Blood pressure numbers aren't always as healthy in the elderly as they should be, simply because the heart sometimes does't work as well due the natural process of aging - the body is not as efficient.
Ideal blood pressure is about 120/80. A healthy, low-salt, low fat diet with limited alcohol can help in keeping blood pressure healthy. Exercise can also help - even a 20 min walk or some simple sit-down exercises at home.
