I take Pramipexole three times a day, according to doctor's orders. I take .5 mg each time but at bedtime I sometimes will increase it to .75mg. as per doctor's order. He said I could take up to 1 mg at bedtime if needed, but so far the .75 mg has been enough. I am also on chronic pain meds that help a little, though not much. I think that is why he is keeping my dosage so low.

Hi,
Did you mean Mirapex? (Pramipexole)
According to MedlinePlus, "When pramiprexole is used to treat restless legs syndrome, it is usually taken once a day, 2 to 3 hours before bedtime. Pramipexole may be taken with or without food, but taking pramipexole with food may help to prevent nausea that may be caused by the medication. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take pramipexole exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor."
It is most important to follow the instructions given by your doctor: what do the instructions say on the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL), or were you just inquiring about the best time of day to take your prescription?
