Hi, I asked a few days ago about a Emergency contraceptive pill. I took plan b on May 31 and my period was supposed to start on June 17 but im late. I've taken a few pregnancy test. Last one was yesterday and it was negative. I took a blood test on jun 14 also negative. When i took the pill i had a very ligh bleeding a week later (june 5) , do i have to count since that day for my next period?

Hello Melinagrax

Thank you for coming back with your concern. The light bleeding on June 5 showed you that the pill worked and you did not become pregnant. An ECP has the side effect of causing changes in the menstrual cycle. Your next monthly period could start earlier or later than expected, but usually not by more than five days.

If you are still concerned, do reach out to your gynecologist.

Regards,
Maryann
