Even @ night when laying down I get an extremely painful, lightening bolt burning sensation in my legs. This is not a nightly thing yet when it does accrue it lasts from 1 to 3 days, sometimes longer. Most often when I simply stand I can not put full weight in one or the other leg with my ankles, upper thigh and heels being beyond full of pain. Yes I know it is something I need to worry about but is there a potential of me NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTINUE walking, standing etc. PLEASE ANY ADVICE would be helpful. I would have seen a dr. years ago but I have NO INSURANCE and we live in a very rural area with no clinics.

Hi Anon, Welcome to EmpowHER. Pain the lorder or feet, can be cause by many things. Such as muscles, nerves, circulation or lower back, where the sciatic nerve originates, and then travels along the path of the nerve. Also many other conditions as well can be the cause. The only way to really know is seeing a doctor and he might suggest having imaging test done such as an MRI. Best, DaisyMay 14, 2012 - 7:42am
