I want to donate my hair to use in a wig for my mother-in-law but I don't know where I can get something like this done.

Hi Anon and Welcome to EmpowHER!
How lovely that you want to help your mother-in-law by donating your hair for a wig. Is she dealing with a medical condition or procedure that's causing the loss of her hair? If so, you and she may find our Community section on Hair Loss to be of interest.
In terms of finding a place where you can have a custom wig made from your hair in your community, your best bet would be to do a Google and/or Yelp search for custom wig shops in your community, and call the local shop. Most shops will only sell synthetic wigs but if there is a local business that can help you get a custom wig made they should know about them.
You may find it difficult to find a place that will do this, or that the cost is quite high. Human hair wig prices may be several thousand dollars, far more than synthetic wigs. Please don't get discouraged. Wig making has changed dramatically in recent years and the synthetic wigs sold today are much more natural and easy to maintain than wigs of the past. Many women who wear wigs on a daily basis, such as those dealing with Alopecia, actually prefer synthetic wigs to human hair wigs.
Let us know what you decide to do, and we hope this information helps you.
Best regards,
Pat
