Dear Dr.,
Whereas my left kidney is normal, my right kidney has poor functioning (Left:Right::89%:11%)
. Are there any oral medicines or nutritionals to help improve the condition of the right kidney?
Thanks
Ulhas Joshi

Hi Anonymous
There are supplements and holistic treatments to support kidney function. I don't know what country you are in, but here in the U.S. we have naturopathic doctors who take a holistic approach to treatment. Here is a little blurb on it: http://www.holisticurology.columbia.edu/_faq/natmed.html
Columbia University has a department dedicated to holistic treatment of kidney and urological disease: http://www.holisticurology.columbia.edu/home.html. I'm sure there are other places that do this as well.
I can also speak from personal experience. I have a dog with chronic renal insufficiency. The treatments for dogs and humans are very similar when it comes to many illnesses, and renal problems is one of them. He eats a special diet, and he has medications that are herbal and digestive enzyme type meds. He takes no Western type drugs yet. His kidneys are pretty bad, but we have maintained him for 2.5 years so far. So these types of treatments can and do work.
I wish you luck and if you need further assistance, please let us know. Thank you for writing.
