Q:

Why?

For a long time now I've been depressed. I get angry a lot and have trouble concentrating in class and because of it two grades are slipping. I have nightmares constantly and can't sleep, getting by on one or two hours a day. There are...other things, but they're too weird to talk about. Can someone please tell me why? I'm tired of having to hide out in my room so that I won't snap at my family.

Hi Arem_X,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Depression is a medical illness that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. It's not known exactly what causes depression.  It’s important to see your doctor soon, so he can find the right treatment for you along with psychotherapy.  Both together will help you overcome all these feelings.  If left untreated, the symptoms can get worse.

Here are some resources for you
