Why am I getting another period 2 weeks after I had my regular one? It's twice in a month.

So I am 21 and my periods have been usually regular, sometimes comes a couple days earlier sometimes not. However, this month I am having me period twice. The first couple days of my previous period were heavy and then nothing which I usually have it for 5 days. At this time I was stressed out a lot, I tend to worry a lot. Fast forward two weeks later I'm on my period again. I did have sex near my ovulation date but it was protected. 3 days after I ovulated I started. It's been heavy and bright red, then at night there isn't much. My breasts are kind of sore but they usually get like that when I'm about to start a period. No cramping this period though and I'm supposed to start next week. I do feel like I've been under some stress, and I had taken sinus medicine syrup for my sinuses so maybe that did something, and I have started drinking a tiny bit more. My diet is bad, I'm a smaller girl for my age do I eat whatever I want. This sucks I don't know what this could be, but I'm going on a little trip in 2 weeks and I don't want to freak out about if I'm going to start bleeding or not. I'm waiting for this period to be over do I can visit the Gyno. Is this really normal or what? This sure does suck, and this is the first time I've ever been like this.

Went to the Gyno today, turns out I did have an irregular period, and it's common, I decided to get on bc and a pregnancy test came back negative! That's it.

Hi BarbieMel,

It is common to experience two periods in a month if you have had stress, on medications, and are ill. Your period should go back to normal next month and if it is a one-time occurrence then there is usually no underlying cause other than stress. If you think you could possibly be pregnant then take a pregnancy test.

Keep us posted,
